Surprising Things About Allowing Myself To Fully Feel

What's Happened Since I've Noticed And Interrupted My Subtle Emotional Avoidance

As I've been writing about lately, I'm in a process of welcoming full feeling. Despite being an "emotional" person, I've engaged in subtle emotional avoidance for years. Today, I'm sharing more about some of the interesting side effects, observations, and experiences that are coming online since allowing feeling in.

These have honestly surprised me. I had no idea how far-reaching my emotional avoidance was until I began this process.

Some highlights from today's post:

  • I've suppressed body sensations too (and what it's been like to bring those back online),
  • I am not super woman (lol), but that's a good thing,
  • my partner and I are having more "conflict" or at least difficult dialogue, and it makes for a deeper, more meaningful relationship,
  • my thoughts are sneaky AF and will try to seduce me back into unfeeling,
  • and I actually can let go and be caught, even though my mind wants to tell me I can't.

Let's get started.
